The Biggest Tennis Match In Gloucestershire - festive fun

Click on an image to enlarge.

Fourteen U10 teams from all the Mini Tennis districts in Gloucestershire took part in a festive tennis match just before Christmas.

A team consisted of 2 Mini Tennis Red, 2 Mini Tennis Orange and 2 Mini Tennis Green players. Teams were supported by coaches and team captains and often a host of parents who seemed to forget that it was only 3 days before Christmas. Activities were doubles and singles matches, other team sports, off court quizzes and games and in a quiet moment each team had to design a winter tennis scene. A parents meeting was held over coffee and mince pies.

This was billed as the biggest tennis match in Gloucestershire and the indoor tennis centre at Oxstalls was taken over for the day. Staff were run off their feet in a demand for lunches coffees and drinks from parents and grandparents.

The whole event was a great team effort and the planning has already started for next year.
