Gloucestershire LTA Veterans inter-county group 2005

Gloucestershire LTA has entered 9 teams into this year’s Tennis GB Veterans’ Inter-county Championships. With the exception of the Ladies 35 and Men’s 35 events which are played over one weekend period (26-28 August and 29-31st July respectively) - all other events are played between May and September. Our home fixtures will again be held at the East Gloucestershire Club.
Unfortunately we have not been able to field a Men’s 60 side this year because we fell short of the number required to sustain a regular core squad.
Despite appealing through the GLTA Annual Report for 2004 and maybe through the discontinuation of a player’s handbook, we continue to struggle as a County in finding enough players of the standard required to support the playing of these events.
The Team Captains (or myself) would be pleased to hear from any players in the County who are keen to participate in the events.

East Glos Club Round Robin mixed doubles 2005

Sunday 10th July sees the Round Robin 2005 mixed doubles at East Glos Club. Playing on some of the best grass courts in Gloucestershire the day starts at 9.30am report in for a 10am start. There's a first prize of £100 and a second prize of £50! The entry fee is £20 per pair (£16 per pair for East Glos members) and includes a buffet lunch. The closing date for entries is Thursday 7th July.
