GLTA U10 Masters
New for 2006: The GLTA U10 Masters Series was successfully launched on Sunday 15th October with the first of 4 monthly events. The first event, named "Monte Carlo", saw 16 youngsters from all over the county battle it out at Oxstalls ITI. The event saw several very close matches and it was a great opportunity for children to play against others from their age group in the county.
The sportsmanship and sense of fun displayed by all the children was fantastic. This first event saw Finlay Mclellan as the overall winner with 145 points, closely followed by George McDuff with 125 points. Both boys were undefeated in their 3 games played. The next event is on November 19th at Oxstalls and we look forward to seeing some more close matches.
Unfortunately all other dates are now full for this event, however you can contact the county office to leave your details on the waiting list. There are two further events after November 19th, ie December 10th and Jan 21st. After the conclusion of the January event, the points will be totaled up with the highest point scorers for boys and girls earning the right to represent Gloucestershire in the U10 Masters challenge against Avon. Well done to all who took part in Sunday we hope you all had a great afternoon of tennis!!
