C&G county closed report
This year's C&G county closed took place from Sunday 26th August - Friday 31st August at East Glos Tennis Club and Well Place, Cheltenham Ladies College.
Gloucestershire saw a huge number of juniors take part this year with a total of 231 juniors competing. This is a huge increase from last year, and it was great to have so many juniors involved. Our biggest rise was in our under 9 events which increased from 18 participants to 53 this year. So a huge thank you to all who took part on and off the court to help get all these players involved.
As always we have many people to thank for making this event a huge success; our tennis committee made up of the parents of the players involved, our referee team led by Graeme Adams, our sponsors C&G, East Glos Club for accommodating this annual event, the county coaches and clubs for supporting this event and all the players and their families for supporting this event. Without whom, this tournament would not be possible. Special thanks also to Steve Evans who helped to publicise this event, by coming in every day to report the days matches and results for the Gloucestershire Citizen and Echo.
